Corporate Team Building made fun at Fedhealth IMPI Challenge
Celebrating its 10th anniversary in November, the Fedhealth IMPI Challenge adds an element of fun to the valuable exercise of Corporate Team Building.
“The Fedhealth IMPI Challenge is the ideal team building exercise,” says Pieter du Plessis, Fedhealth IMPI Challenge Race Director. “In essence the IMPI Challenge is an enjoyable and somewhat challenging trail run that incorporates awesome obstacles. The goal is to challenge all possible fears, be it a fear of heights, small spaces and/or water just to mention a few. Although, in the Elite Race, entrants are required to conquer all obstacles without outside assistance, in the IMPI Challenge and IMPI Corporate Race we encourage teamwork.”
“Nothing beats conquering your fears with the assistance of a friend,” continues du Plessis. “Coordinating outfits is definitely a highlight when entering a team. This could actually be seen as the first ‘obstacle’ before the actual event starts. Once completed, teams can relax in the Festival Village and soak up the awesome atmosphere that the IMPI Challenge has become known for. Look forward to sharing war stories over a cold beer and scrumptious meal.”
Over the years the Fedhealth IMPI Challenge has attracted the attention of various companies including: Spur, Rialto, Cipla and Rawson Property Group.
“The Fedhealth IMPI Challenge is a fun filled, body bruising event that we enter to challenge our fitness and capabilities,” says Khakhi Diala, Sponsorships and events manager: Spur Group. “It’s become a fun team building exercise for us. Team members get to enjoy the outdoors and are required to complete the course together as a team, assisting each other where needed. There is no better feeling than when you cross the finish line. That is the feeling that I look forward to.”
“To date Spur has entered a team into the IMPI Challenge at least 11 times already,” continues Diala. “IMPI has become an outing that staff members really enjoy and look forward to. The feedback received after the IMPI Challenge #1 in Cape Town earlier this year was overwhelming. Everybody had a great time and kept asking about the next event. I would definitely recommend the IMPI Challenge to other companies. The event allows employees to get to know each other outside of the work environment. It takes you out of the city, and allows you to build friendships while challenging your fears in the most amazing setting.”
“Taking part in the Fedhealth IMPI Challenge earlier this year was a new experience for me as I usually enter mountain bike races,” admits Massimiliano Mosca, Sales Representative: Rialto Foods. “The event was a lot of fun and definitely catered for all fitness levels. Our staff members are competitive by nature. We thought that the IMPI Challenge would be the perfect way to release the competitive spirit. Our goal was to get to know each other better. It was amazing to discover how personalities change out of the office environment. The IMPI Challenge lived up to its reputation. I would recommend it to companies, families and friends. Rialto Foods will definitely enter a team again.”
