Cathy Cloete – Survivor and Absa RUN YOUR CITY Champion

My name is Cathy Cloete. I am a proud mom of two beautiful daughters, Chandre and Chane, and I am married to the most amazing, caring and supportive husband, Clive, for 30 years. I manage the PR and Events at Cape Peninsula University of Technology (CPUT) and I am a thankful, grateful and blessed cancer warrior.

I am in remission and, despite the immense challenges we face, all cancer warriors demonstrate incredible resilience, courage, and determination as we navigate through our life journey with grace and dignity.

My story serves as a testament to the human spirit’s capacity to endure and thrive in the face of adversity and doing the Absa RUN YOUR CITY race for CANSA with my 2 beautiful daughters is a blessing from above.

To wake up everyday day is a gift beyond measure, a chance to cherish the beauty of life and embrace all its blessings.

When I got the “all clear” after my double mastectomy and 6 years of treatment, I vowed to seize each moment with purpose, to spread kindness, and to savor the simple joys that fill each day with meaning.

With a heart overflowing with gratitude, I thank God everyday for granting me this precious opportunity to enjoy LIFE with my family, who are my sole reason for fighting back and refusing to let cancer knock me down.

I am doing this race in honour of my dear sister and beloved mother – two fallen warriors.

Let us treasure the GIFT of LIFE and make every sunrise a testament to our resilience, gratitude, and unwavering hope.
