Capital to Capital Cycle Challenge 2021

Capital to Capital Cycle Challenge 2021

A total of 26 cyclists took part in the Capital to Capital Cycle Challenge 2021, a distance of 490km between the Union Buildings in Pretoria and the Maseru Border post in March 2021.

The team would like to thank all the sponsors and the support staff, who arranged three vehicles with six support staff to assist the riders.

Although it was difficult arranging a challenge like this with the prevailing COVID-19 restrictions and CANSA could not conduct cancer screening at the different stops, the ride was successful and the team had a lot of fun. Fortunately, there were no serious incidents. Only a few punctures which were quickly repaired.

The team is planning another Capital To Capital ride however this time they will be headed north west to Gaborone, Botswana! This time around they will be raising funds and awareness for Cervical and Colorectal Cancer.

Message from the organiser of the Capital To Capital Cycle Challenge, Makalo Khaketla: “On behalf of the C2C organizing team and the riders who took part in the 2021 Capital to Capital Cycle Challenge, we would like to express our heartfelt appreciation to CANSA as our partner for C2C2021. We hope this is the beginning of a long and mutually beneficial working relationship.”
