In its 10th Anniversary year, CANSA Active is gearing up for an unforgettable challenge!
This year, our passionate CANSA Active team will take on the Old Mutual Wealth Double Century on 22 November 2025 in Swellendam — one of South Africa’s most iconic cycling events.
It’s one team, one race, one day – 200km of determination, teamwork, and heart. Every pedal stroke supports CANSA’s mission to fight cancer and promote active, balanced lifestyles.

No stranger to taking part in sports “for more than myself,” this year I’ll be ‘Doing Great Things’ by riding the 20okm Old Mutual Wealth Double Century cycle race in November.
This time, my challenge has a purpose that’s deeply personal — raising funds and awareness for the Cancer Association of South Africa (CANSA) through their CANSA Active programme.
Cancer has touched my life and the lives of many around me. My mother lost her battle over 10 years ago. Several of my teammates have been affected, including one whose young son is currently fighting Leukaemia. These experiences remind me that no one fights alone.
Every contribution, no matter how big or small, can help make a real difference to those facing this disease — providing support, research, and hope.

Cycling has become more than just a sport for me – it’s a way of life. What started as a personal journey into endurance sports has grown into something much bigger. From races to coffee rides and early mornings on the streets of Cape Town, cycling continues to be my greatest passion.
This year, a group of friends made the decision to take part in the Old Mutual Double Century – but not just for the challenge. We wanted our ride to carry purpose. Riding for Cancer SA gives us the chance to honour those whose lives have been touched by cancer, including a member or members of our own team.
Like many, I have seen how cancer impacts families, friends, and communities. That’s why this ride means so much. Between full-time jobs and family commitments, we’ve chosen to dedicate our time and energy to creating awareness and standing in support of those fighting this battle.
I am proud to ride this year for Cancer SA – to create awareness, to show resilience, and to carry hope forward with every kilometre.
